Can one still take a boat from USA to Europe?

What kind of boat if one wishes to do it themselves? What kind of customs does one have to go through? Serious answers only please.

any boat can go from one country to another, assuming the skipper goes thru customs (at any port of sail/marina) and passport control. doing it on your own - assuming you have the knowledge to sail and navigate - in also a common thing with yachts (usually sail boats but also powerboats with enough range i.e. fuel and supplies).
