I did and chose:

Insurmountable

In-sur-mount-a-ble.

Say it slowly, aloud,

using hushed tone.

Insurmountable.

Do the syllables not

roll off the tongue

in an almost

blatantly

seductive manner?

In-sur-mount-a-ble.

Such a beautiful

sounding word

to carry

in its meaning

utter defeat.

  1. As was discussed a few weeks ago, or there abouts,,, nothing is off limits for poetry.

Mighty fine demonstration and composition Ma, mighty fine indeed.

  2. Inevitability.  7 syllables. That's my word.

    Insurmountable

    Inevitability

    and Ma says... so what!

    A nice pen.

  3. Oh Ma, keep this up and you're going to become a Master Poet.

  4. You did it well. and sometimes the problems of life do indeed seem  insurmountable but usually there's a little bit of light hiding there somewhere. Love does have a way of  edging out the darkness.

  5. I have done as you said and I have realized that nothing is

    in

    sur

    mount

    a

    ble.

  6. Insurmountable

Sits pride of place in my ku

    None can go higher

Just like ma and her poem!

    "Because it's THERE!"

Will Ma nEverest until she achieves Ma-stery in Poetry?

  7. Don't know of any rule which states you cannot!  Interesting choice.

  8. yes you can a poem is basicly just your fellings or what is on your mind i done on on love also the have the pomes like this that call for one word

    c- cuddley

    a- atractive

    t tan

so why couldnt you do it the way you did

  9. "They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can't get away from us now!"

    - Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, USMC

When the Marines were cut off behind enemy lines and the Army had written the 1st Marine Division off as being lost because they were surrounded by 22  enemy divisions. The Marines made it out inflicting the highest casualty ratio on an enemy in history and destroying 7 entire enemy divisions in the process. An enemy division is 16500+ men while a Marine division is 12500 men.

"They are a d**n site better than the U.S. Army, at least we know that they  will be there in the morning."

    - Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller when a journalist asked him about being surrounded by 22. enemy divisions.

Obviously "insurmountable" was not in Chesty's vocabulary or the Marine's that served with him... so you see why I might not use it.

I did enjoy your poem, it was well written.

  10. salubrious :)

  11. Very poetic Insurmountable. I could prob write on a number of words. Not so poetic as you of course.

But now i am gonna focus on the word sleep

    As my head hurts .

    These last 2 weeks

have taken a toil on my body

    as well as my thoughts

    Sleep yes uninterrupted

Take me away to dreams yet to be dreamed.

Take me away from those things

that have kept me from the night

    Sleep one blissful night.

  12. Obviously you can, since you did. And a wonderful and profound poem about impossible things too.

  13. That was rather perspicuously written.

One of my favorite words is

    kath-a-re-vus-a

  14. Gee Ma, your good!  I want to grow up and be just like you. You're the best!

  15. *throws tomatos at you*

Go home you loser! You suck!!

    ^

    ^

    even poets need hecklers!

HA HA. It was lovely, Ma, just like always.

Good Lord Woman! Is there anything you can't make a poem out of?

    xoxo

  16. you sure did

  17. But Ma, the power of love is also insurmountable, as is the power of good, as is the power of poetry, as is your giving and loving spirit!
