Question:

Can only sgts and up in the marine corps carry m203's on there rifles if not how does that work.

Also do you have to pay for the 203's.

  1. M203s became a very successful too when you do not have a mortar platoon embarked with your platoon.  Presumably that you are not in a weapons company that will have the mortarmen (or equivalent [this is Marine Corps version here]) available.  This is very effective since the rifleman will have the payload as a mortarman too.  A Fire Team Leader will carry them, and at cases, the Squad Leader and Platoon Leader too.

    They are issued according to rank of Sergeants and above only.  They are placed within a team according to the rifle platoons T/E and T/O.


  2. Not necessarily. 203's are carried by fireteam leaders who are usually Cpls but some Lcpls also hold that billet as well. 203's are issued by the units armory.

  3. You dont pay for anything in the Marine corps and you will be issued a M203 depending upon your assignment in your fireteam i beleive was'nt ground side. Go Air Wing!!!
