only jockey club registered thoroughbreds three year olds can be nominated for the triple crown. they are nominated as yearlings. i do believe there are nomination fees. there are no late supplement nominations. so you really have to know horses.

Nope, they have got to be Thoroughbreds registered with the Jockey Club. I assume you are talking about the Triple Crown series of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont.
