  1. if not they will either run it in the morning or monday

  2. There's no lights there, and I'm pretty sure there's no curfew.  There's a huge casino just across the street, and I'll bet (lol) they stay open all night.

Let's hope they can get the race in before dark.

  3. By the looks of it they will run the race. They want to start the race by 6!

  4. There's no lights at Dover, so yes, they can run the race later, but only up to a point.

  5. others might be able to speak to this better than i, but generally they do their best to get the race in on the day it was scheduled, which can be pretty late if the track has lights. they are more picky about trying to get the race done for sprint cup, because at least some of the nationwide drivers can't wait all night for a nationwide race to start or not, they have to be ready for the big race. and there are usually more fans to consider, tv coverage, etc on sundays than saturdays.

but i have been there when nascar just refused to call it a day, and i hope they learned a lesson from that.  yes, it was fontana, and on saturday, they called the nationwide race off fairly early - no good weather on the horizon.  but sunday, i waited until laaate afternoon to go down there to see what would happen, and got sucked into the "start and stop" race from a h**l that never seemed like it would end.  they kept us waiting not only on the track, but after we left they kept saying they'd run it at 10pm, then 11, then 12, then 1 (pacific time).  then finally they said, ok, tomorrow morning.

i guess some places have late night noise ordinances, and maybe someone from the dover area could speak to that, but there are none in fontana (the place is a dump to begin with - the city that is ;-) so anytime they can run, they will.

  6. i will run a nation wide race and i can

  7. Unfortunately it is unlikely that the race will be completed today, as the track is under a Tornado Watch, with hail in the area. The rain/storms aren't expected to end until 1 am so it looks like we will have to wait until Monday if it doesn't clear up. There are no lighting systems at Dover so the chances of the race being completed are highly unlikely from the looks of the radar. Let's hope that things will quickly change and we can go racing. Below is the current weather pattern for Dover Intl. Raceway:

This Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. West wind around 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
