  1. Actions? Not really.

But be exposed to some chemicals, and you can have DNA altering mutations. Some are known as cancer.

  2. Nope, this is more of your brain's developement. all the characteristics of your DNA are predetermined from your parents such as bron hair, blue eyes, small feet etc. We call this inheritance

  3. Hahaha, no.

  4. no ,hahaha ,never

  5. No, learned behaviour is not inherited.

It would obviously help your children if they were taught early though - as an example children are much better at learning foreign languages than adults, due to the way their brains work and your child might find that a useful thing to learn too.

  6. no, but lets say you were born double jointed then your children would have a better chance of being born double jointed.

  7. No

  8. Not in the way you have described, this wouldn't change your DNA and it wouldn't be passed on to your children.

However your DNA sequence can be changed by actions and habits, for example, HIV. This is a retro virus which can integrate itself into our DNA sequence to alter the code.

  9. Yes!

By what you eat and chems ur exposed to they can put a histone which turns of some genes.

For ur question the answer in a big NO NO!

  10. > Can our DNA be changed by our actions or habbits?

Yes.  It can be methylated, which controls the expression of genes.  This is inheritable to some extent.

    > If i was to learn juggling very well would my DNA change in such a way that allows my chilred to learn juggling a lot faster as a result?

Not likely.  You might want to marry a girl who was really good at juggling.  Enjoy.

  11. As mentioned above - the DNA of individual cells can be damaged by free-radicals and radiation - this damage normally kills the cell, or may have no effect at all - or more rarely causes the cell to malfunction and replicate which is Cancer.

Nothing can globally change all the DNA within every cell in your body at once (ever see that movie The Fly, with Jeff Goldblum...well thats what happens to him in that..)

Its previously been thought that actions cant change your DNA - but I did read that there are certain 'switches' that get switched based on a parents enviroment that IS passed to offspring - one example given was if the parents had a very stressful and dangerous life or some catastrophic event - the children will be more nervous and cautious - I'll try and find the article..

  12. if you asking structure point of view their may be  changes.i will support my  statement by example of smoking and non smoking people. who gets cancer first..? smoking one because modification in thier DNA structure and base pairing.

  13. It's not as ridiculous a question as they all make it out to be first of... I think an early scientist/biologist named Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (find him on Wiki if you want to find out more) proposed a similar theory quite some time ago. However, it has been since proven to be not the case. We do not aqcuire traits during our life that can be inherited. However, losing traits (by the aforementioned methylation of certain genes) is a possibility...

  14. The answer is a bit complicated.  First, no you cannot change your DNA in your germ cell line so that you can pass on your juggling skills to your offspring.  Second, you can certainly change your DNA by exposing yourself to mutagenic chemicals and radiation which might lead to cancer.
