Can our current moderator add an additional moderator? How?

If the moderator has the privilege, yes. But if the owner didn't give that permission , the mod cannot do that. For more info:

you'd first want to contact the owner before adding any.

if any have the ability to do this other than the owner, you'd need the priviledge of Add, remove, and change moderator privileges.

many owners limit the priviledges for this reason, mods adding people without their knowledge. the current moderator would have to see what all of 9 privs that they have

to locate their privs, the current moderator clicks members list- moderator tab- click edit memebrship below their ID- scroll to bottom and green you can, red you cannot
