Can over-the-counter sleep aids like diphenhydramine HCl kill you?

  1. Not if you don't overdose on them, but they are habit forming. I suggest you do something natural to help you sleep, instead of taking pills. Turn off your lights, computer, music and lay down, close your eyes and think of things that are relaxing to you, like sitting in a warm whirlpool, and letting the water gently beat against your skin. They used to say count sheep jumping over a fence, but it isn't the counting that will work as well as eye movement. Keep your eyes on the sheep, watch them with your eyes from where they are standing and jumping over the fence and landing, then go to the next one and so on and so on. I wish for you the very best young lady, and please try something besides the pills.  


  2. yaaaaaah. you can overdose on very nearly EVERYTHING. so just read the directions and don't take more than you should.

  3. Any medicine can kill you if you take too much of it.  As long as you follow the directions, and read all the warnings, you'll be fine.
