I have always wanted to buy my own truck and work for myself, but how can someone make it on their own in the trucking industry today? Fuel is crazy... Any thoughts?

  1. I have heard on the news that many are going broke.  Many will lose business if they pass the cost on to the company they are working for.  Eventually they will have to pass on the cost or find another job, its sad, but its the way the economy works.

  2. Now is not a good time to get into any business where gas prices cut into your profits.

  3. $4.50 a gallon..the good old days....it's $4.75 here...oh wait..$4.80... $4.85....it's up there....the last time I filled up the truck 1997 f150....it cost me $125....that was last week though.

Diesel...is in the $5.50 range..depending on the location.
