I don't think uncooked rice is a very good thing to feed a bird; since rice expands when it's wet, it could hurt them if they eat too much and it expands in their stomach. But plain *cooked* rice is perfectly fine.

I don't think I would suggest "uncooked" rice but my Quaker Parrot loves and eats plain cooked rice all the time.

It is a myth that uncooked rice will cause a bird to explode. However, birds usually tend to like rice when it has been cooked, so why not give them cooked rice? It is a good source of protein for them !
