Can parakeets hear human voices?

Question

I've heard that parakeets can't hear the low pitches of the human voice. My parakeet seems to respond to my voice but I'm not sure. Can they hear us or only higher pitches??

They can hear voices.  They will repeat words to you if they are males and you spend time talking to them.

of course parakeets can hear people... if they couldn't, how would they be able to learn to talk, etc.?
