Yes but you have to keep repeating it over and over again until they get it.  They can also talk too but you do the same thing as the song.

They can mimic very well. One of our parakeets picked up on our toy poodle's bark, so that when the bird was happy and singing to the bird in the mirror, he'd throw in "Bark bark bark bark bark!" every few minutes. He also did the smoke alarm and the phone ringtone. Continuous play of the song is what's called for. You could set up a CD to repeat the track all day while you're out of the house. It won't drive the bird nuts, but it might drive you batty if you stayed home.

Sure parakeets can sing! Just pick something easy and keep repeating it over and over again.  They are also very good talkers.  You do the same with talking as you do with singing.  Just teach it one thing at a time and do it often.  They are like little echos.  They hear something and do their best to reach the same note or tone it hears! (smile)..

they can do anything. all the budgies i have owned imitated kissing noises right away. so cute!
