  1. To explain the PayPal verification process a little further for you it requires that you have a way to check deposits into the account either on-line and/or from a teller printout.  What happens is that you set up the account information on the PayPal site giving the transist number and account number as outlined there.  PayPal will than within a day or so make two deposits to that account in the amounts of a few cents e.g. $0.02 and $0.07.  You than return to the PayPal site and follow the instructions to enter those two deposits.  That's it you have now verified that account with them.  It will take about a week or so but it's worth it believe me.  And while your at it sign up and get the high security number generator device from PayPal this device changes a six digit code about once every 30 seconds.  Now when you sign into your PayPal account and enter the proper six digit code in force at that time you can make charges etc. as you want.  That's one of the things I love about my account.  You buy something online and pay via PayPal without that code someone trying to use your account will fail.  Now you show me another more secure method of buying online.  The Good news is PayPal is fast becoming acceptable at things like Amazon.com and other online sites not connected to Ebay directly.

Hope this helps you understand the PayPal system a little better.

  2. No. The bank account needs to be verified before PayPal will transfer funds to or from it.
