Question:

Can peace be possible through unpeaceful methods? Is it right to think that?

i have a thought that the unrealistic idea of world peace can occur if we people simply rid of all the negitive oppressers and money and power hungry people. But doing such a thing can have a way of being wrong in other situations. I personnally think along with helping starving countries and protesting and all that junk seems to be having little effect, why cant a group of people take charge and do some things that will cause pandemonium instead of balence but in the long run will be a peaceful result. i dont want to sound like an extremist or anything, im just a 15 year old who is sick of seeing war, wrong doings and death all around the world. is that wrong to want action that could hurt immediatly but heal the world over a long period of time? i just want a semi-peaceful world where people get along and not neccasarily have the same opinions, but i feel that my biggest hope is closer to imagination then reality.

  1. the problem with peace through war is that obviously some people don't want what you want so unless you got rid of every single person that might not go with the world peace then it will never happen (and those people will never be gone)

peace has to come with everyone allowing it to come but the human race will never be perfect enough to do that (not to be a pessimist or anything but world peace is impossible)

this doesn't mean you should give up and not bother being peaceful, because not only is that the right thing, but it is setting an example for others, and proving that people don't have to be so violent and power hungry

  2. Your peace may not be my peace, particularly if you gain your peace at the expense of my peace.  For this reason, world peace will never exist.  There will always be people fighting over something somewhere.  It is an unfortunate reality of life.

  3. simply eliminating people that are "bad" will never create peace for a few reasons

    1. everyone does not agree on who is "bad". some countries view america as opressive, so do you propose we just nuke ourselves?

    2. there will always be people who replace them. just because hitler is dead, there are still those who hate jews

  4. Every society, people, persons, has their own opinion about how life should be lived. Thus conflict...thus war.

Get rid of conflict...naturally get rid of war. How?

One cannot wash the blood off their hands with blood. Wise, but not an answer, right?

All paths lead to God? Wise, but not the answer right?

Heaven awaits the believers in Jesus. Wise, but not an answer right?

Do you see. These are all ways people think. And different people think differently. So, when one person believes he/she is "right" about their belief and you're not them, then this happens "I mean get with the/MY picture...No?...Oh, well then, you're not justifiably appropriate for this world...you must die."

So what do we do. We take care of ourselves and transform the world with our own acceptance of other's way and propagate peace by example. Sounds corny? Sounds unrealistic? Try it. A 15 yr old often lives in quite desperation waiting for the world to give him/her answers and that is part of growing up. But you're obviously more sophisticated than most...so try it. Live as an example of peace and tolerance...it's harder than h**l BTW...but the only way.

  5. Well, it's always nice to dream.  There's nothing wrong with wanting anything(this I say with "Clocks" playing in my headphones right now).  Dream big my child.

But there's the reality that humans are complicated beings.  The desire and ability to hurt, to be callous, to be mistaken, to pretend everything's OK when it's really not, is in all of us, along with the ability to be compassionate, to love, to heal etc.  It's nice to imagine we could rid ourselves of a few bad people and everything would be great.  But I think that's a bit of denial going on.  I think that's why we like to scapegoat the 'bad' people.  We can imagine for a moment that we don't share anything with them, deny our responsibility for some of the pain and anxiety in our lives.

But again, there's nothing wrong with trying to improve things.  It's tragic that sick people make it to powerful positions and many suffer as a result.  Nations go to war.  War causes much pain.  We can blame our leaders for it but I don't think it would happen if every single citizen was out on the streets saying we don't want this.  So we must share some of the blame.  Sometimes we like to fight.  And then we may get an *** whooping and decide we want peace for a while.  It's just the way we work as humans.  Maybe wars DO help peace.  Many soldiers would agree with this.  'Freedom isn't free' as they say.  It may be naive of us to imagine that peace could happen between groups of people without an occaisional reminder of what war is like.

But once again, who can say what is possible.  Maybe it IS possible to have peace all the time with no war ever.  I say keep ideals in mind as goals to strive for, but realize that they will probably never be achieved.  Reality almost never matches the conceptual.  But we can get closer to them.  We can improve.

  6. No, no, no.

To get world peace everyone MUST be the same, then there will be no bitching over anything and all will live in harmony.

  7. sounds like you should seek more of a political education since this seems to be a passion..the world needs thinkers like you!!

  8. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutley.

History repeats itself, and apparently you have never studied history.   Hitler tried to create peace through unpeaceful methods, how'd that work out?

ON another note, I do believe that bullies have to be stopped often times by force.....

  9. They keep trying to bring peace with war....  is it working yet?

    you go girl!

    that totally rocks.

and i wish we could have peace 2.

    i think your idea rocks!

  11. Listen.  Don't try to tackle the world's problems on your own.  That's number one.  God allowed millions of people to exist who  have similar goals.  What we strive instead is to share what peace we have in our hearts with those around us.  For now that is a more realistic goal that the creator wants us to share any way.  The choice is up the those who receive your gift of peace.  But they will be judged accordingly as well.  So God has many sharing your burden the whole world over in many countries, languages, etc.  Does that help?
