Can peach trees turn into apricot trees?

Well, that happened to my peach tree! Man, I totally don't understand the chemistry here.

The only way a peach tree can turn into an apricot tree is if it is growing very close to a nuclear reactor that is leaking radioactive toxins into the air and the water you are using to water the tree with.

Another option is you were duped at the nursery.

And last but certainly not least - last year when you thought you were eating peaches from that tree - it was the LSD you were experimenting with.

Now that you have become an alcoholic it is easier for you to recognize an apricot.
