if I just have the digging tools and would I be able to dig ? is that it ?

I know that they can try but I am not sure what happens after some level of depth. I want to know how deep we can dig. if we dig until we hit the magma, does it immediately explode through that hole and close it?

do we have any kind of element that will physically resist magma heat when it gets in touch with it ?

  1. if we dug that deep all sorts of problems would occur

    excessive heat

the problematic chance of a cave in

when we reach the magma it may rise and errupt

  2. People can dig until the have resources to dig. The resources is: Money, machines, time, people... and MONEY... money, money.

The magma is not a definite boundary as the ice and water. Before the liquid magma there are layers of plastic rocks, very hot. As the pressure is closing the hole, a reinforcement would required for the walls, but the wall become hot and plastic too...

In some places, the water would fill the hole before the magma or plastic rocks. The water can help to dig if you let it in the hole. when the oil companies perforate looking for oil, they use a dense water suspension.

Another fact is the hole diameter. Larger holes would collapse before.

  3. the earth is like a balloon. instead of air, you have heat and magma. if you dig deep enough, the earth will explode in some sort of catastrophic way.
