Can people file an application to become someones rep payee with out their permission?

for instance someone from the county wants to become my rep payee and i feel that they cant do that. has anybody been in this situation before?

  1. You can grant Power of Attorney to someone else, which allows them to make financial decisions and manage accounts on your behalf.


  2. You may want to check with the county courthouse to see if someone has filed to become your conservator.  It may be that someone in your family or in the county social services has filed conservation papers regarding your ability to care for yourself financially.
