  1. The French language is not being passed on in Louisiana.  If it continues like it has been for the past few decades, soon the language will not be spoken at all there.  There are still some francophones in south western Louisiana.  So they can speak french with French people. Bu the rest of Lousiana is all Englsh speaking and they most likely don't know French as a second language.

  2. Yes they can because most French people speak English

  3. Only if the people all speak and understand the same language.....

  4. french-speaking ppl from louisiana speak french creole, which is a different dialect of the french language. but im sure they can understand eachother.

  5. depends on what type of french they speak

  6. This is a trick question.

Louisianna isn't an American state - check the spelling.  It is in fact a small sheep town in Northern Territories, Australia.

But the answer is still the same - yes they can.  Nonetheless, as other Australians can't understand them, the French have no chance.

    Nice try but no cigar.

  7. Yes, anytime they wish. If you mean can they speak French because of their French heritage, then that is a different matter. There are some persons from that state who speak French, but people from Louisana do not go around speaking French every day.

  8. The Louisiana descendants of the early french that colonised America speak "cajun" french...this is a deformation of the name "Acadien", which is the place they came south from, and was part of Canada. They would probably find it easier to understand and talk to the people from Quebec rather than those from France as the cajun french language is a very archaic version of french dating back to the 17th. century, and with very little change, wheras the french spoken in Europe has been modernised all through time. I make a guess that if they speak slowly, and pronounce with care they might be able to make themselves understood, but I'm not sure!
