Can people hear us from the other line even if we got disconnected?

I was talking on the phone with someone, and then we just got disconnected because my dad came on the other phone which is in the same house i'm in. So i just got disconnected from the person i was talking to. I'm just wondering, can the person hear still hear what's going on in the house even though me and them got disconnected.

what is it abut "disconnected" that you do not understand?

Two possibilities.

1. Yes. The other end may not be disconnected if you didn't hear a busy tone. He/she may just appeared to be disconnected. Meaning, your conversation with your dad might be heard.

2. No. Your conversation with your dad can't be heard if the other end was disconnected. Only if your heard the busy tone. If not, may be the line is still connected.

If the call was actually disconnected then the line is no longer connected.  If the phone you are using is an electronic extension - then the one your dad was on may be the main phone and will override another extension - without further information this would be tough to answer.
