I work as a graphic artist for a company that produces products for use in the US and Canada. I have been using only our toll free 800 # on our labels and literature. I was just told that Canadians can't reach us that way. Is that true?

  1. When a company sets up a toll free number, they say which areas can dial it (so they save costs).  For example, a flower shop in Texas would not want to pay to allow someone in Manitoba to call them.

Companies with toll free numbers allow access to their number from wherever they may likely get business.

So, generally, yes, Canadians can dial toll free numbers.

  2. Yes there are in fact some US only toll free numbers

  3. I contacted a friend in the U.S through an 800 number at a majour company..It worked just fine for me.  (I am in Ontario Canada)

I guess it depends on what the company needs.
