  1. Usually a golf club manufacturer will disclose "non-conforming" on the club itself (especially for drivers) like the above poster mentions, Spin Doctor is a non-conforming wedge because the design of the grooves/roughness of the face influences the movement of the ball.

The Spin Doctor has a pegged face and pegged face wedges produce enormous backspin but is illegal on the tour.

I believe a company called Acquity also makes a non-conforming wedge.

If you're serious about your short-game, I would invest in either Vokey's or Cleveland Wedges as these are the best types of wedges out there.  I use CG12 (Cleveland) and they are incredible clubs.

You can get a good deal on Cleveland wedges from Rock Bottom or your local Sports Authority/Sports Chalet.

    Hope this helps.

  2. they are both junk.

the only illegal club i can think of is a spindoctor.

get a titleist vokey spin milled :D

    you cant go wrong..

the only club i can get backspin up to 15 feet!

  3. in 2 years every wedge on the market right now will be "non-conforming". apparently its becoming to easy to control shots from the rough with todays wedges.
