Can people steal my money by knowing my credit card number?

I recently had to hand in some source documents for my accounting homework, and i didnt twink out my credit card number! will people be able to steal my money without knowing my password?

Probably not! Most online stores require the verification digits from the back of your credit card.

Once we had an unauthorized charge on our card and called the credit card issuer. We were told they had flagged the charge as suspicious because those digits were not used. The charge was deleted while on the phone with them.
