Without letting out any oxygen?

Cuz on TV I see people smile and everything, and without letting out any air would water be bottled up in your mouth if you close it?

I was just wondering.

  1. Yup. When I swim, I always have my mouth open. It's kinda gross, but I feel like I can hold in the air longer.  :)

  2. yup.. do it all the time!

  3. i can: ]

  4. yes. i'm doing that a lot of times already in competitions

  5. As long as you can keep your throat shut when you smile, then your air will stay in your air pipe and lungs. When you close your mouth, I would think that it's the tongue movement that would push the water and keep it out.

  6. ya, i open my mouth underwater and it doesnt change how long im under

  7. yeah, when im competitively swimming i never close my mouth!

its like you have an air bubble inside your mouth, and it doesnt affect you at all !
