Can people who work in William Hill have an account with them?

Or not, and what happens if it's not okay and someon in William Hill does have an account with them what is a person supposed to do when they know someone in William Hill with an account, if it's not alright..?

  1. There was a case many years ago about 1980 where a woman who worked on course for the Tote got the sack for something similar. I cannot remember the details but I do know that the Tote's action seemed harsh at the time as the "offence" seemed almost irrelevant.

    I suppose it all depends how far one is from the scene of the action. You would not be allowed to bet in your own shop or, I should imagine, to have a telephone account but if you had an internet account I cannot see any harm in that. However why take the risk as if you win big and they get to know they might not pay you. There are plenty of other bookies out there. It appears you are uncomfortable knowing about this. If you yourself are an employee you should examine your contract of employment to find out what the rules are. Speak to your colleague, tell him/her that this knowledge is uncomfortable for you and that he/she should choose an account elsewhere.
