I am going to Cuenca, Ecuador and want to make sure I will be able to use my ATM card. I was able to do this in Spain and it worked out well. Also, what is the maximum amount that can be withdrawn from an ATM in Ecuador? Thanks!!!!!!!

  1. yes your probably can also you might want to advise your

bank that you will be traveling out of the country and it will

be you using your ATM card

(some banks will block your transactions if your activity

seems out of the no marl activity  for your account

Like one day you are in Los Angeles then suddenly

the same day (or next you are in a different country

they might *assume your card got stolen from you)

but if you advised customer service that you are out of the county there shouldn't be a problem expect for ATM

fees and perhap cross border and foreign exchange fees)

  2. The thing your looking for on the ATM is the PLUS symble doesn't matter anything to do with visa or master card because they all say that ..

Look at the back of your card it should say PLUS and than look for this symble on the machine I know for a fact that banco de Guayaquil works and the pinnchincha Bank also I don't know the maximums but i did take out $200 at one point hope that helps......Ren

  3. Yes, you can take out money from Ecuadorian ATMs. Look for the VISA, MasterCard, Cirrus or Maestro logos on (or near) the ATMs; that tells you that your card will work at those machines. The maximum limit that can be withdrawn in a day depends on the bank, but it's typically up to $1,000/day. For safety reasons, you should only use ATMs in hotels, restaurants or at banks with guards as thieves often target foreigners using ATMs.

  4. Yes you can; As long as it has a Visa/Master Card Logo on it.
