  1. Dyslexia interferes with reading, writing, & spelling. As long as you can read street signs quickly enough to exit from freeways, you can drive OK.

If you need accommodations for the written driving test, according to Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, you can get someone to read the questions to you.

  2. It is possible.  However, the focus for dyslexics for successfully getting licensed to drive is on how they exercise the neuronal abilty they can utilize for processing the provided data that will give them a strong choice for determining an accurate response.

  3. I don't think that people who have dyslexia should drive.  They should be focusing on learning how to read first before driving.  On the other hand, most people had dyslexia when they were children because that is when everyone starts to learn to read.  Once they are able to read effectively, dyslexia is gone.  Most people who start to drive are either adolescents or adults.  Since dyslexia often affect children, I don't see how it would affect them when they are an adolescent or adult driving.  Children who have dyslexia generally receive special education in school so they are able to read effectively.  Therefore, it wouldn't interfere with their ability to drive when they are older.

**If a person can read street signs, this person does NOT have dyslexia.  A person with dyslexia has an inability to read effectively which results in poor writing and spelling.  It is caused by an unknown factor or factors.  Well that is the "true" person who has dyslexia.  The rest of them that claim to have dyslexia are making it up.  Just like someone who claims to have ADD or ADHD.  People having ADD or ADHD is due to bad parenting.  Don't blame it on yourself.  It was how the parents raised them.  If parents spoil their children, of course they will have ADHD.

  4. Yes, people with Dyslexia can still drive.  However, dyslexia is a recognized learning disability.  This means if you have formally been diagnosed with a learning disability, you can qualify to get extra time, or have someone read the test questions to you.  You just have to notify the Drivers Facility that you need special accomodations for the test.  Dyslexics will still have to pass the driver's portion of the test like everyone else.

  5. yes they just do it in reverse LOL jk

  6. yes

  7. Any one who can read well enough to understand road signs  can qualify for a driver's license after passing a test that shows their capability.

Ability to control a motor vehicles is more important than mere literacy.
