I have front jbl components(good ones), 70 watts rms, and rear are pioneer 35 watts rms and 180 max. My receiver is the new 2008 model with 22watts rms to each four channel, so 25rms x 4 and 50 watts maximum to each channell. should i get an amp(jbl) 4 channell 55watts rms? will that make it louder and cleaner and more bass(punchier)?

  1. yes i would get an external amp for them because the radios internal amp is not powerful enough to keep the sound quality up and the distortion down once you start getting towards mid to high volume on the radio- they wont be louder, but they will be a lot more clear/clean sounding at the higher volumes so they are more usable when you crank the volume

  2. you should be good to go just like you are and the amp would be wasted money

  3. You dont need a external amp for those. Only subwoofers. BEST ANSWER!!!!
