  1. No. It would have to be very powerful indeed to have any damaging effect. This is why pylons are a worry  and linked to leukaemia. An electromagnet of average voltage would not cause a problem, but it could wreck the TV.


  2. Spiney, your logic seems strange. The EM field from an electromagnet close up is many orders of magnitude stronger than that from a HV wire 50 feet or more away.

    But neither are harmful.
