Can plastic garbage be used for fuel for electric generating power plants?

  1. Yes, and, No.

    Most plastics are mostly hydrocarbons and will burn, but there

    are dangerous fumes emitted, and a very special, expensive  furnace

    would have to be used. Perhaps a different one for each class of plastics.


  2. Yes, IF you don't care what comes out the smokestack.  Burning most plastics emits toxic chemicals in the smoke.

  3. never heard about that before. i think it's a yes, when you use the principle of Einstein: his famous equation E=mc^2

    in terms of chemistry, be sure that plastics can produce enough energy as common fuels do. from what i know it's not feasible...
