Cry "Feed 'em"

by Jellz Fisher 080811

Symbols cry out for freedom,

unleashed onto a captivated,

field of new visual harvest.

Rows and rows of food.

Just look at them grow!

Feed Them what they need

and They will come

Hungry, thirsty,

famished and dry.

Pleading for their existence.

Teach a man to spell,

you feed him for a day

Teach him to write poetry

You feed him for the lifetime….

…..of his soul.

The harvest is plentiful, come, eat.

  5. Poetry CAN be food for the soul, and this poem proves it. Keep up the 'delicious' work

  6. Are you hungry and thirsty this morning? I am also, hungry for poetry which indeed feeds the heart and the soul--and the intellect.

You are providing much food for thought.

  7. Brilliant is a very good word for this poem.

I love the last stanza; it is a twist on teaching, but it fits perfectly with poetry and writing.

You should work on getting your poetry published in any magazines that want change -- and almost all Americans want and need change now.
