Well I was looking around for port tubes to add to a ported enclosure i am going to make. The Kenwood KFC-W3011 (12") manual suggests a 1.5 cu. ft. enclosure with a 3" diameter on the port and for it to be 7" long. Using the calculator on

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp

I pretty much figured out that the frequency they are using for the port is 37Hz.

I want the base to be deeper so I am going to build the enclosure at 2 cu. ft. instead of 1.5, and was planning on using a 3" diameter port and a 4.75" length on the tube (using the calculator stated above). The problem is, on crutchfield, the only 3" diameter tube they sell is 4.5" in. long.

Would it be ok for me to use the tube even though its 4.5" long (it would tune to 37.7Hz instead of 37), or should I go down to a 2" diameter tube which will only need to be 1.6" long? I just wasn't sure if 2" would be too small for the enclosure.

Any other suggestions are welcome as well.
