I'm having contractions, I can't tell if they're regular though. They are coming every minute and not lasting too long but they are the most painful I've experience yet. Is it common for pre-labor contractions to be intense?

  1. yes... and go rush to the hospital immediately.

  2. I would call your doctor. You could be in labor.

  3. call your doctor or go to the ER just to make sure everything is ok

  4. well if ur hurting so bad that u cant stand it then i would go to the hosptil u never know what it could be...how many weeks are u?

  5. yes this is wait puts you into full labor. you can call your doctor or the hospital and ask when you should go in. my hospital told be to come in if they were 3 to 5 minutes apart constant and are very painful. good luck and congrats

  6. It could be that these are pre-labor contractions. I've been contracting for four weeks and some have been so painful I can't even think. Like most everyone else has said: time them. Time how long they last and how much time is between them. While timing them, lay on your left side and drink about a liter of water. If they continue after 30 minutes of laying/drinking water, call your doctor.

  7. You should call your doctor, but you probably have an irritable uterus, because labor contractions should not come every minute. How long are your contractions, less than 1 minute? That's also a good way to distinguish labor from irritability, if it's shorter than 1 minute it's probably irritability. Try drinking a large glass of water and lie down on your left side, which improves circulation to the uterus and will often settle an irritable uterus.

  8. i would think so. any contractions are contractions right?? i bet you're on your way. congrats!!!!!

  9. You could very well be dehydrated or experiencing braxton hicks but at 39 weeks I would def time them (space between and length of each) and call your dr...please let us know what ahppens...good luck!

  10. Mine have been pretty strong in this pregnancy.  Are you dehydrated?  Drinking water has always helped mine go away.  If you drink some water and lay down for an hour, and they don't go away, you need to call your doctor.  Otherwise, take some Tylenol PM and get some rest.

  11. how long is each contraction and how far apart are they?  they can be-i had a friend who went into labor with her first and within 2 hours delivered. with her other kids the dr said dont mess around when you start get here asap
