  1. Most state and Federal prisons allow for them to be sent directly to the inmates from the USPS. I have done this myself several times by ordering them online from usps.com and having them sent to the inmate.

    County jails, however, vary from jail to jail so you would need to contact the jail to ask.

    As a general rule, if you are allowed to send stamps or prepaid envelopes directly to the inmate through the mail, then you are also allowed to send them to the inmate directly from the USPS.
