Can pressing hard on the veins in your wrist cause harm?

My son came home from school today informing me that a boy often grabs my son's hand and squeezes his wrist really hard while pressing his thumbs into the veins. Can this cause permanant damage.

  1. If these veins are constricted for a long period of time, then yes. However, if the boy just grabs on quickly, then there should be no harm done. But if your kid doesn't like this, you should talk to a teacher about stopping it. And if his wrist shows any signs of abnormality, you should see a doctor.
