Question:

Can pressure affect wind direction?

I don't think it does but if it does tell me how and why. This is for science and i've made a graph and i'm not sure.

  1. Pressure affects both the direction and the speed of the wind. Air always flows from high pressure to low pressure. Closer isobars (lines of equal pressure) mean greater wind speed.


  2. As far as I know, winds flow from high pressure areas to low pressure areas. So pressure does affect wind direction.

  3. well the answers is YES!! look at hurricanes they can change wind direction big time
