  1. Mine has a special spot for dry powder.  Once it's gone, buy the HE liquid.  It costs more, but you use way less.  Mine also says to water down the fabric soften a bit or it will clog.

  2. High Efficiency washing machines typically use HE washing powders as they have lower sudsing ability, regular or ultra powders can be used in these machines but with smaller or recommended amounts lessened Good Luck !

  3. i never heard of top loading powder. soap is soap. but with a front loader u usually use less soap because there is more agitation to do the job. and the machine uses less water.

  4. I just bought a front load washer earlier this year, and if you picked up the warranty, you should stick with the maker's recommendations.  If you don't and something goes wrong (even unrelated) your warranty may be voided and you will have to pick up the tab yourself to fix it.  Pass the powder to a friend who can use it.

  5. if you are referring to regular powder laundry soap yes it can hurt a front loader if you put in to much. A front loader uses less water and soap. The extreme agitation in a front loader will over suds the load if you use to much causing what is called a suds lock and the machine will not work until the pressure switch is changed. I don't recommend powder laundry soap in any washing mach. It settles out in the pumps, gets hard like concrete and then the pump fails. Use only liquid HE laundry soap in a front loader.
