Question:

Can "floaties" in your eyes catch light and change color?

My friend's eye doctor says she has a "floatie" in her eye (basically a black dot that movies around on her eye). Every once in a while she catches a white dot out of the corner of her eye. COuld it be that the light catches it just right and it turns it white?

  1. I have black floaters and 'white' floaters.  (I call them clear floaters)  Anyway, I have TONS of them.  There are several different types.  She could have different kinds as well.  My eye doctor told me that everyone has floaters, just not everyone can see them.  I have long stringy ones, black dots, cobweb looking ones and just blobs of them.  I can see them especially on a cloudy day or right now as I look at the screen.

I'd say she has 2 different kinds.  I wouldn't think that the sun could change it colors.
