Can radiation be transfered to a fork through a microwave???

i accidentally kept my fork in the microwave while i was heating up my food... could it transfer its harmful rays to the fork

  1. No. Leaving a fork in the microwave is still a good way to start a small fire though, due to the arcing off the tongs.

    Microwaves emit non-ionizing radiation so it's inherently safer than other types of more damaging radiation.
