  1. i can't believe someone said troy glaus was on the angels.

and that boston would take the series even though they got swept twice by them.

the rays are a good team, but they are with out a doubt not as good as the angels. they angels seem to fall apart at times, especially in the playoffs...so really they could pull off the upset. but if Anaheim plays like they have this season, they shouldn't have much trouble

  2. No, the Angels pitching and batting is the best and baseball and they will overpower the young Rays team. If they match up I see the Angels taking the series 4-2.

  3. as of right now Angles are the best team in mlb.

But that dosent matter intill playoffs. It depands what happens

  4. I know that the rays will not have success if they play the angles in the first round of the playoffs because the angles have a very good lineup they have Vladimire Guerreo, Troy Glaus and now they have Mark Texirea.

  5. If the Rays make the playoffs (i say IF because nothing in baseball is certain---see 2007 Mets for more details) they can have success. The only way (right now) that they would meet the Angels in the 1st round is if the Rays win the Wild Card (best record always plays wild card team, unless they are from the same division

so the odds of Angels vs Rays in the ALDS is very slim. i dont see the 2 teams making the playoffs out of the AL West so its safe to say the Angels have the division locked up..

More than likely the Rays, if they make the playoffs  will draw the White Sox or Twins (the AL Central winner) in the ALDS..and they can have success against either of those teams

but its hard to speculate 2 months before the season is over. alot can happen in 2 months (see 2007 Mets season for more details)

oh and Bobby C---the ALDS (i.e. First round) is a 5 game series not 7

  6. Angels have T. GLAUS?? LMAO.. terrible

  7. I doubt it, the Angels are too good a team.  That said, if the Angels meet the Red Sox---I don't know if the Angels could win.

  8. They have to make the play offs first.  Season is far from over & the AL East isn't their's just yet but anything can happen once the play offs start.

  9. of course they do!!!! ima rays fan!!!!lol. but seriously wen they make it to the playoffs not if! but its the playoffs everybody has a chance 2 win. if u win ur division r if you win the wildcard i dnt think it matters 2 much.i think all that matters is defense and not s******g up on basic things and both rays have that. and wats the deal with they saying the angels cant beat red soxs in the playoffs? just cuz they didnt last year? who cares? they killed the red soxs this season so far. who cares bout last year thats old news. now with out manny all they got is ortiz. hes not really that great....

  10. Success is relative. Given the past ten years I think even making the playoffs will be a huge success in Tampa.

If they meet the Angels, I think they will play well but eventually lose. Next year the definition of success will change dramatically for the Rays, they will be expected to be very competitive with their young nucleus.

Now if only they could get a real baseball stadium to play in...

  11. Hard one to answer. I'll say probably not. The Rays have a good young team but their pitching isn't that great and the hitters are mediocre at best.

  12. of course they do! they lead the series against the angels in the regular season so far, something the red sox and yankees cannot say. The Rays even swept the angels at home. And if it werent for some close calls, they couldve taken 2 of 3 in LA. They definately have a shot.

The Rays lead the overall series 4-2.

  13. Actually i don't know, Angels have been a bit weak against tampa bay  i remember.. (yup 2-4 against the rays this year)

so who knows? Tampa bay has a real good team!

  14. I'd love to see that match up,but I think the Angels may win because they have way more experience in the playoffs of course.I'm not saying it's not gonna happen-last year in the ALDS,LA batted under .200! it can happen and I would love to see it happen, but the Angels are a very consistent team with an amazing closer,so I say slim chance.

  15. NO

  16. No. Here is why:

Yes the TB Rays are 4-2 this season vs. Angels, but here is where the Angels pull away. In June they (Angels)  took the 3 game series 2-1. Since then the Angels have upgraded their bats by adding Tex and this is while their bats have come back to life.

The Angels have pulled away from their division and the rest of the league. Their only downfall was the Yankees where they split the series.

If the Angels weren't so good on the road I would say that the Rays stand a chance. The Angels are a complete team with experience and a great coaching staff. Angels would win that series 4-1

  17. Yes.  Actually they match up better vs. the Angels than they do against anyone else that's in the play-off hunt. Plus the Rays have  a 4-2  record vs. the Angels this year. Both teams have solid pitching, good defense and offensively both just find a way to get it done.  They are very similar but the Angels are older and have play-off experience.
