  1. Yes and no, (Wine is kinda like rotting grape juice to begin with)

you know people who have 100 year old bottles of red wine from a stand point its off or bad but it is still drink able,

Red wine is off to say is when it gains a more bitter flavor and has a semi solid mass at the base of the bottle it only needs alittle shake once that happens (there are some more things about this),

But your wine isn't that its just a little old it should be fine,

the speacks are just the more dense parts of the wine collecting at the base

but I would taste it first alittle

pour some into a shot glass and sip it if your fine with it feel free to drink it but if it isn't nice pour it down the drain and recycle the bottle

  2. Wine has gone bad if it smells like vinegar or raisins....

  3. It can turn to vinegar ... but then you'll just have wine vinegar to use:)

  4. wine can go off even in an unopened bottle

    i wouldnt drink it

    could make you very sick

  5. no it's not good anymore, it will taste like vinegar.

  6. Once opened, red wine will last 3 to 4 days before turning bad.  You can fridge and reuse for a week or two.

In your case, the opened wine was probably left out and is now probably undrinkable. If in doubt take a sip, it won't hurt you. but may taste more like vinegar than wine.

  7. It takes a long time for wine to turn to vinegar.

The specks are pieces of grape skins, and that is present in many wines. If it tastes OK, then it is fine, but opening a bottle and not finishing it is taboo as far as I am concerned. Shame on you!!
