Can restaurants in Australia charge for tap water, otherwise let me know where i can find out?

  4. No restaurant in Australia charges for tap water, if they do get up and walk out on them as soon as possible, it will teach them a lesson

  7. Yes they can as water doesnt come free neither does service also they have to wash your glass in water and detergent which also costs them.

  8. some restaurants do and some dont. i know a couple of places that charge 20c for a glass of tap water yet other places will give you a carafe of water and couple of glasses for no charge.

  10. I suppose they can charge for anything they serve. In Australia there have been drought conditions for some time now.

  12. yes they can, but i have never heard of anyone doing it ......except mcdonalds who once charged me 15cents to cover the cost of the cup....that was their explanation for the charge..lol
