Can rice hulls be used as litter for a 1000 bird coop?

Hi I'm planning to use rice hulls as litter for my 1000 birds. I just want to know if this is possible considering the large number of birds concentrated in the place. Please give me tips how can this be made to work since I believe that it would be cleaner and drier compared with a slatted flooring. Thanks

1000 birds?? Whoa!! I can't answer your question but why do you have so many birds and where do you keep them all!?

Sounds good.  Do you have a source?  I wold think you'd just spread it around.  But it will get all fouled and have to be changed.
