Will it interfere with or affect the accuracy of a virus scan if you get on the Internet at the same time as a scan and run it in the background?

  1. Depends on the program you are using, I use Norton and when it is not running a full scan I can minimize it and it will run in the background, When it runs a full scan my computer slows down allot so I let it run by itself.

  2. Ideally, you should close all applications while you scan.

Otherwise, when the scanner detect the virus but the file is locked by other application and it cannot delete or quarantine the infected file.

It defeat the whole purpose of virus scanning.

  3. Is not a problem...just slows things down a bit.

I do it all the time

  4. http://giving.has.it

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  5. Nope not at all! Don't worry about it dude

It may make the virus scan take longer as the computer will be using CPU for it aswell as your opened programs

    Hope that helps

  6. It could slow down the process.....but if you have an infected file and if it  tries to access the net through an open port then there could be complications like system hanging up.....which in return affects the anti-virus program which is trying to scan and remove the same....

play it safe disconnect and scan......

    hope this helps...
