  1. yes you can tattoo over scar tissue and stretch marks unless its still healing of course :)

  2. Most scars can be tattooed without issue as long as they are "white" scars and not very striated.  Thick, heavy scarring takes a bit of work to get the ink in to stay but the plus side is that the needling of the skin actually improves the texture of those heavier scars.

In non-scarred skin there is a normal dermal layer that the ink molecules can easily find its final resting spot in - with scar tissue this is not the case and some of it is often rejected so it will need touching up.  Because the epidermis is also not normal - the natural transparency may not be either so it can look a bit 'cloudy' on the scarred areas.

  3. You can tattoo over scar tissue but it is more painful that blemish free skin

  4. once your scars have 'silvered out', gone pale and white they can be tattooed. it tends to be more painful over scar tissue, and its not so good for detail work directly above, but a scar in a patch of colour or outlining can look amaising and give your tattoo depth and feeling. if you have any further doubts go and see your artist, or find a good one to talk to about it, ive known a few who don't like to do scar tissue as a personal preference but there's really no harm. it can heal very differently, don't be alarmed if it heals significantly faster or slower than the rest, its a very different kind of flesh
