Can senate deny someone to take a seat?

I have been searching and searching for the answer to this question:

Here is a hypothetical situation. Oliver North is elected to the Senate from Virginia, but the Senate refuses to allow North to take his seat. Would that denial be constitutional, and within the rights of the Senate? Tell me "yes" or "no", and briefly support your answer: "Article I says that. .

  1. No. All I know is that when the people elect a senator or congressman to office, then that is that. After the person is in office, then there is a process they can use to get someone out if they have done something illegal.
