Question:

Can sheetrock support a speaker?

I need to prop up one speaker. It is about 8lb. The sheetrock doesn't have a wooden beam behind it and I don't need a fancy shelf setup. I just want the speaker to be raised.

What solutions do I have? The speaker needs to be at a curve, aimed at me (lower than it).

  1. Buy an end table

  2. 8 pounds is not very much. You can use toggle bolts for the anchor. Check out this website.

  3. You can buy these clamps that spring open when you get them through the drywall.  They provide added support.  I just hung some bose cubes up using them
