Can short girls (5'1") play water polo?

I've just started, and I'm 5'1". I doubt I'll grow any taller. Most women water polo players seem to be really tall.

I played in High School at 5'9"...if you're a strong swimmer and have a good arm, height should have no bearing. Go for it and see how things go. Never know until you try...good luck.

It doesn't matter how tall you are in the water, it matters how high you can tread. If you like water polo you should be able to overcome the height difference.

Yes! Of course you can still play water polo!

although it is true that many of the women water polo players are tall, you can use your size to your advantage.

Disadvantage is that sometimes you can be easily pushed around.

However, you can be quicker than taller/fatter people!

React quickly to whistles ( change of direction etc etc.)!
