Can shrub roses be crowded as long as they're in full sun?

  1. Yes. They can be as close as two feet apart (3 to 4 is recommended, depending on type) as long as you keep them watered and fertilized, so they are not competing for moisture and nutrients. I have hot cocoa roses planted two feet apart and it just gives me a thicker looking hedge.  


  2. No you cannot crowd your roses this will and can foster powdery mildew.  Give your roses room to breathe, they  like 6 hours of sunshine  each day. Chek labeling for spacing, of your roses it varies for differant roses.
