Can silver tarnish clothing if you leave a sterling silver item folded in with the clothing?

I have a lavendar sachet with a piece of silver on it and wondered if it will ruin clothing when it oxidizes?

I don't know about clothing, but, when wearing a silver necklace I get a black mark on my neck.

hmmmm, good question!  I'm thinking no.  The oxidation is limited to the silver and doesn't rub off until you add a cleaning agent.
