Can small rats and LARGE rat

Question

Well, I want to get a pet rat.(a BIG one) And my 7 year old brother does too. But he wants a small one, and nether of us want to change our minds. HELP!

Rats tend to grow, so what may start out little could become quite large in the future.  Girls tend to be a bit smaller, but they're usually more active.  Boys can get pretty big (Some even up to 2 pounds!) and are more laid back.

Dwarf rats do exist, but they're hard to find and you have to be careful housing them with normal-sized rats.

They are the same kind, only different ages. The small one will grow bigger. It is best to introduce a young rat to an older one because older rats tend to be more tolerant of youngsters.
